Qualifications
I hold a BSc in Biology, MSc and Doctor of Natural Sciences (RNDr) in Experimental Biology from the leading Central Europe science faculty at University of South Bohemia awarded with the top 1% outstanding performer scholarship. I have a PhD from the top NZ research-led university (University of Auckland) in Biomedical Sciences and I was the top PhD graduate in the department.
Experiences
I am an active biomedical research leader and educator with two doctorates and 10 years’ experience in teaching and mentoring at the Medical School of the University of Auckland. I have been teaching 4 university courses including group workshops and tutorials and completed supervision of 29 students that involved mentoring them daily for 1 to 3 years each in completing challenging oral and written English assignments and resolving complex scientific problems. I hold high student evaluations.
My research has produced an anti-cancer drug in human clinical trials, illuminated toxicity of bacterial water blooms, discovered novel biochemical reactions, leading industrial enzyme technology, and new ways to fight cancer. I have authored 20+ peer-reviewed publications, over 30 international conference presentations, received prestigious government grants such as the Royal Society Marsden Fund and hold seven research awards.
